Greetings Sorors and Friends,

Welcome to the Official Website of the Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Gamma Epsilon is a chapter of dynamic, radiant, and distinguished young women. Our leadership and dedication to service and scholarship are evident through our work on our respective campuses, throughout the North Atlantic Region, and internationally. The glorious and exemplary Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter’s membership comprises five schools: Drexel University, La Salle University, Thomas Jefferson University - East Falls Campus, Saint Joseph’s University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter was chartered on Sunday, June 24, 1945. Now in our 75th year, the chapter continues to dedicate itself to upholding the core tenets of Service, Scholarship, and Sisterhood in the name of our beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha. Our international program for 2018-2022, established under the leadership of our International President, Dr. Glenda Glover, is “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service.” Encompassed within our international program are five target areas of focus, including “HBCU for Life,” “Women’s Healthcare and Wellness,” “Building You Economic Legacy,” “the Arts!”, and “Global Impact.” Gamma Epsilon strives to fulfill the aims of these targets both on our campuses and within the greater Philadelphia area. Our chapter is committed to creating meaningful programming that enriches the quality of mind of our peers and collaborators, as well as the overall welfare of our communities. We have remained dedicated and devoted to participating in hands-on service projects and engaging in intentional civil rights and social justice initiatives to help alleviate problems and build upon the positive attributes of our community.

Gamma Epsilon consists of women who have proven themselves to be leaders and pioneers on our respective campuses. The young women in our chapter have been recognized for their artistic talents, civic engagement, academic excellence, leadership, professional acumen, and countless more. As we continually endeavor to uphold the legacy of our beloved Sorority and provide service to all mankind, we invite you to stay engaged with us by attending our upcoming programs and supporting our various causes. Please feel free to browse our website for additional information regarding our service and program opportunities.

Be well, and we hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Ashley Codner

President
